This is a simple battle report from introducing some new players to the game. They were getting used to flying so I didn’t take a bunch of pictures or anything like that, but wanted to share it for those of you who also are learning or introducing the game.

My Dad is quite familiar with Star Trek Attack Wing, so I gave him Poe fully loaded up in Black One for a total of 105 points. I figured he would like the challenge.

Travis had not played any Attack Wing game yet, so I went with well rounded starter ships. He is a huge First Order fan, so I got him setup with 3 TIE/fo black aces at 35 points each. This way he could fly around, have lots of hull points to lose, and get a chance to get comfortable with it.

Poe started out going hot and fast, whipping around to his left and gunning to isolate a lone TIE/fo. A smart move for sure when outnumbered.

Travis kept the first to somewhat together, but had one split off the same direction.

As the game progressed, Travis went from flying to engage Poe where he was at, to anticipating where he might be. This, as all flyers know, is the most critical skill in the game. This did mean that early game the TIE/fo kept swinging all over.

Mean while, Poe was doing the best he could to not get shot. He got two excellent torpedo shots lined up, but the dice gods denied his paltry offerings and he did was 1 shield damage between both of them. One was eventually gunned down, but after quite a bit of chaotic flight time, the FO pilots had boxed him in a corner and managed to gun him down.

Overall, it was a good flight lesson for Travis. He also had great evade rolls which saved his bacon numerous times.

For my Dad, he got to be a punching bag despite doing every trick in the book. Sometimes its just a bad dice day.

Somehow, no one crashed into an Asteroid or Debris Field the entire game!
